People ask whether it’s true if you can receive up to $1,500 per call for robo-dialed calls to your cell phone? The answer is yes. If you bring a lawsuit, and you are the prevailing party, the minimum per call is $500. The maximum is $1,500 for every call where the call was made knowingly or willfully.
It’s very important when you’re getting these calls, to send a letter certified return receipt and say “You’re calling my cell phone my cell phone number is…” and give your cell phone number and say “You do not have permission to call my cell phone number. I don’t know where you got my number from but this has to stop right now. You’re interfering with my life”. If you happen to pick up the phone and get a robo-dialed call, tell the person “I don’t know where you got my cell phone number from, but you can’t make robo-dialed calls to my cell phone number. It has to stop.” They may ask you, “Can you give us another number where we can reach you?” The answer is ‘No. Stop calling my cell phone.” Even if you gave your number to them years ago, you can withdraw your consent.
